JAIPUR: A seven-member delegation formed by BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Kirori Lal Meena met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and chief minister Ashok Gehlot at Motigrah in Alwar to pitch for a complete waiver of farmers’ loans, subsidy in power bills, VAT reduction in petrol-diesel and allotment of land to temple bodies on Tuesday.
All seven members were handpicked by Meena who are experts on ERCP, farmers’ issues and contractual employees.. “Rahul Gandhi was under the impression that the Congress government has fulfilled the promise made to the farmers in 2018 in an election rally.
We told him that still thousands of farmers are awaiting the waiver of loans. He was astonished and looked at Gehlot for his response which somewhat agreed with our claims,” said Govind Meena, one of the delegates who met Gandhi.
He added that Gandhi assured that the matter will be investigated and soon it will be resolved. The meeting was followed by Meena barging into a pandal at Chandra Singh Ki Dhani in Surer (Rajgarh) village of Alwar on Sunday demanding Gandhi to fulfil the promise made by the Congress government on December 18.
