The Italian state police recently turned Santa Claus after its personnel delivered two kidneys to people in need of immediate transplant. The police personnel used a Lamborghini Huracan V10 from their fleet to deliver the precious cargo that needed to reach hospitals in Modena and Rome. After a successful operation, the state police posted a picture from the emergency bay of one of the hospitals, wishing a good life to the kidney benefactors.
The post put up by the Italian police on Instagram reads, “Traveling on the highway to deliver the most beautiful Christmas present: life. Thanks to the special Santa Claus of the State Police, two people received the gift of a kidney. The organs were delivered by the policemen of the Stradale, who aboard the Lamborghini Huracan, delivered two kidneys to hospitals of Modena and Rome. Thanks to the teamwork carried out together with the National Transplant Center, two people and their families can spend a happier and more peaceful Christmas. Good life!”
This wasn’t the first rodeo for this Lamborghini Huracan ‘Polizia’, in November 2020, the 610 hp, V10 supercar was deployed by the Italian police to deliver a kidney to a hospital in Padua and that mission was as successful as this one. With a top speed of 325 kmph, the Huracan reportedly delivered the kidney in less than two hours from Rome. For perspective, even a speeding ambulance would have taken atleast 4 hours to do the same.
Lamborghini had donated two Huracans to the state police in 2017, both feature the typical Italian police blue and white livery, sirens and LED flashing lights. It also gets standard police issue computer, tablet and radio inside. However, the most special addition to both the Huracans is the refrigerated organ transplant box that has been custom built to fit the frunk. The supercars even have a defibrillator.
