Infant girl rescued in Gajapati
Berhampur: The Gajapati administration on Tuesday rescued a baby girl, who is less than a year old, from her mother in Paralakhemundi. She had left the baby out in the open on a cold winter night.
The baby was admitted to the hospital after being rescued, said Arun Kumar Tripathy, district child protection officer (DCPO), Gajapati. Officials of DCPO, child adoption centre and Childline rescued the baby from her mother, he said. After being rescued, the baby was produced in the district child welfare committee (CWC). After treatment, the baby would be housed in the child adoption centre, said Tripathy. tnn
