RANCHI: Several schools in the city are planning a variety of activities to help the less privileged on the occasion of Christmas.
St Xavier's School has asked its students to donate a portion of their pocket money to the institution. Additionally, the school will use the funds raised to provide underprivileged children with
Christmas gifts.
School coordinator Santosh Kumar said, “The sum collected will be used for the purpose of helping poor children. As part of our initiative to ensure that everyone enjoys the festival, the amount will be utilised to purchase items of necessities for children from economically challenged background.”
At Don Bosco School, students have been invited to donate clothes and food packages which will be given to underprivileged children on the occasion of Christmas.
Uma Shankar Saho, office coordinator of Don Bosco, said, “Christmas is a time of sharing and caring. Students have been asked to distribute whatever they can, such as rice, pulses, clothes, blankets, tea, soaps, biscuits, which will be donated to the needy and marginalised. The effort has been taken by the school's alumni group."
St Xavier's Girls School, Chaibasa in West Singbhum has organised Secret Santa for its students where one will have to gift anonymous gifts to each other.
