GHAZIABAD: Three minors boy and his cousins went missing from Ikla village in the Wave City area on Saturday evening. The three boys left their house to go to a local market but didn’t return till Sunday afternoon. According to police, the missing boys—two 14-year-old boys and one 15-year-old—are all residents of Ikla village.
Ravi Prakash Singh, ACP, Wave City, said that on Sunday morning, police received information that the boys, who had plans to celebrate their friend’s birthday on Saturday evening, had gone missing.
“Based on a complaint, an FIR has been registered against unidentified persons under IPC section 363 (punishment for kidnapping). We have formed a team to trace the minors and have been checking the CCTV footage from the nearby areas. In one of the footage, we spotted the children on a motorcycle,” he said.
The complainant, the father of one of the boys, told TOI that two boys are in Class 7 while another is in Class 8 in different private schools. “Around 6 pm on Saturday, my son took my motorcycle and went out with his cousins. When they didn't come home by 9 pm, we started a search operation and learned they went to a local market,” he said. “We also learned from locals that they were going towards Khichra village but could not get any information from then on. The children don’t have mobile phones. So, we contacted the police on Sunday morning,” he added.
On December 14, the Ghaziabad police rescued five kids, aged 5 to 12 years, reported missing from a school in the Tronica city area, Loni. Police found the children playing in a vacant plot within 40 minutes of starting the search operation.
