Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, Piccadily Sugar(20.0%), Pradhin Ltd.(20.0%), Dhampure Special(19.97%), Rajshree Sugars(19.96%), Parvati Sweetners(19.94%), Simbhaoli Sugars(19.86%), Shree Global(19.72%), Virtual Global Education Ltd.-Deleted(19.61%), Innovators Facade Sy(19.46%) and Godavari Drugs(19.15%).
The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 468.38 points up at 61806.19, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 151.45 points up at 18420.45.
In the Nifty50 index, 5 stocks closed in the green, while 44 stocks ended in the red.
Meanwhile, stocks such as , , , and hit their fresh 52-week high, while Inox Green Energy Services Ltd., , Sintex Inds., and touched their new 52-week low in today's trade.
