Use of MP-LAD, MLA-LAD funds remains low in state
Jaipur: Under the central government’s MP-LAD scheme, only 6.36%, or Rs 22.93 crore of the total available funds, Rs 360.46 crore, has been utilised by the state government up to October, data received from the rural development and panchayati raj department stated.
Under the MLA-LAD scheme, only 11.93 per cent (Rs 210.44 crore) of the total available funds of Rs 1764.36 crore, was utilised by the state government till October. Financial progress of these schemes was reviewed by the additional chief secretary (ACS) in charge of rural development and panchayati raj department, Abhay Kumar, on December 2. According to data received from the department, Alwar and Pali (2.57% of the total available funds utilised in each) and Sikar (1.35%) were the worst performing districts as far as progress of the MP-LAD (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha) scheme in the state was concerned.
Districts that performed relatively better in MP-LAD include Jalore (21.22% of the total available funds utilised), Jhunjhunu (20.65%), Bharatpur (16.16%), Jodhpur (16.16%), Chittorgarh (13.72%), Nagaur (12.94%), Kota (12.15%) and Bhilwara (10.05%).
In the MLA-LAD scheme, Sawai Madhopur was the worst performing district with only 2.49% of the total available funds utilised. Other districts that fared poorly were Kota (5.16%), Bikaner (6.95%), Rajsamand (7.27%) and Jaisalmer (7.30%).
Pratapgarh was the best performing district in the MLA-LAD scheme as it has utilised 30.83% of the total available funds. It is followed by Dholpur (28.80%), Jhunjhunu (28.34%), Udaipur (26.02%), Sirohi (18.56%), Nagaur (17.97%), Churu (16.55%) and Bharatpur (15.17%).
