Prayagraj: The registration of 11 ultrasound centres of the city has been cancelled by the health department. Registration of these ultrasound centres has been cancelled after they had failed to submit the papers needed for the renewal of the centres. Cancellation of registration of these centres follows instructions of District Magistrate, Sanjay Kumar Khatri to the nodal officer of Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT). A meeting of the PCPNDT district advisory committee was held recently under the chairmanship of the DM. In the meeting, registration of 22 new ultrasound centres and renovation of six old ultrasound centers was approved. Besides, approval was given for relocation of four new centres. However, the same meeting decided to cancel the registration of 11 ultrasound centres, located at different parts of the urban and rural areas of the district.
“As per the norm, the ultra sound centres have to submit the papers for renewal of their centres every after five years but these centres, registration of have been cancelled by us, failed to submit the requisite papers hence we have cancelled their registration”, said additional chief medical officer (ACMO), Dr Arun Kumar Tiwari. These ultra sound centres will now have to apply for registration, afresh, he added. Dr Tiwari also informed that most of these ultra sound centres are located within the urban limits of the city. The DM has also instructed PCPNDT Nodal Officer and ACMO, Dr Tiwari to get the ultrasound centres checked every month.
