Man builds room after getting notice, LIT stops work

Ludhiana: The officials of Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) on Sunday stopped an illegal construction work in Maharish Balmiki Nagar here.
A MIG flat owner here was illegally constructing a room in the vacant space at the backside of his flat, and preparation was going on for its shuttering. The field staff had stopped this work earlier also, and a notice was served to the owner as well, but he still continued with the work.
On Sunday, when the LIT officials reached and stopped the work, people present at the spot showed some resentment and also tried to stop the officials, but the illegal structure was razed by them.
LIT chairman Tarsem Bhinder, while issuing a press release, warned the public and said, “In LIT residential scheme areas, nobody should try to violate the norms and encroach upon public land. If anybody continues violating the norms even after getting the notices, there will be strict action against the violator.”
