Akkamahadevi varsity convocation today

Vijayapura: The 13th and 14th convocations of Karnataka State Akkamahadevi Women’s University will be held at 12 noon on Monday in a specially constructed hall at the sports ground of the university’s Gnanashakti premises, said vice chancellor Prof BK Tulasimala.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, Tulasimala said governor Thawar Chand Gehlot will participate in the convocation while Prof Shantishree Dhulipudi Pandit, vice chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi; and CN Aswatha Narayan, higher education minister would attend.
“Dr SG Sushilamma, a social worker of Sumangali Sevashram, Bengaluru, Indumati Katadare, chancellor of Punurutthana Vidyapeeth, Gujarat, and Reshma Kaur, vice-president of Guru Nanak Group of Educational Institutions, Bidar, will be accorded with honorary doctorate degrees on the occasion,” she added.
