Panaji: On the occasion of Goa’s Liberation Day, several officials from the departments of police, fire services and FDA were honoured for meritorious service.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Kiran Poduval was awarded the President’s police medal for meritorious service while SP Abhishekh Dhania, IPS, DySP Manoj Mardolkar, DySP Tushar Vernekar, PSI Devu Mangaonkar, HC Santosh Bhatkar, HC Chaya Godkar, PC Avinash Naik were awarded the chief minister’s police medal for meritorious service. PSI Vithal Majik, ASI Roque Esteibeiro, HC Hassan Patel and HC Amit Naik were awarded the Union home minister’s medal for excellence in police training.
Director of food and drugs administration Jyoti Sardesai was awarded “for outstanding performance” in food safety in the state.
The chief minister’s fire service medals for meritorious service were awarded to station fire officer Ravindranath Pednekar, sub-officer Rui Fernandes and watch room operator Devanand Parsekar. Leading fire fighter Dharmendra Naik was awarded the chief minister’s medal for gallantry service. The chief minister’s home guard and civil defence medals for meritorious service were awarded to Anil Haldankar, Rita Raju and Sunanda Chopdekar.
