‘CBSE Class X, XII exams likely to start from Feb 15’
Ranchi: The tentative date for Class X and XII examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) is February 15, 2023, and the annual practical examinations and internal assessments are scheduled to begin on January 1.
This was stated by CBSE coordinator and DPS, Ranchi, principal Ram Singh during the state-level CBSE principals’ meeting here on Saturday. Over 150 principals from across the state attended the meeting.
The meeting, hosted by DPS, Ranchi, discussed the preparation for the upcoming examinations to advise the CBSE schools on the required code of conduct.
Speaking on the occasion, Singh emphasised the significance of the board exam and discussed the exam structure, syllabus and assessment scheme as well as the question patterns. He said, “The tentative date of the start of the board exam will be February 15. The key highlight of the board exam assessment scheme is that the evaluation matrix has been aligned with competency-based education. In line with this, exams for the forthcoming sessions will have a greater number of competency-based questions that can assess the application of concepts in real-life situations.”
Singh further said, “The schools will ensure that the syllabus for practical examinations is completed well in time. They will also ensure that all students and parents are informed about the date of practical examinations for needful action from their end. Further, a sufficient number of practical answer books should be made available in the schools before the date of examinations.”
The regional officer (Patna region) of CBSE, Arvind Kumar Mishra, highlighted the duties of principals and teachers. He said, “Teachers play a very important role in shaping the future of the students and creating a good human being. For better performance, teachers, parents and students should register in greater numbers to participate in the Pariksha pe Charcha. Moreover, the implementation of the National Education Policy is necessary as it is very helpful in providing children with moral and holistic development.”
