Mysuru: Three leopard cubs, supposedly a week old, that were found in a sugarcane field at BSeehalli in T Narasipura taluk have been relocated to Mysuru Zoo.
These cubs were left at the field hoping that the mother leopard may return late in the evening, in vain.
The cubs were growing weak without food (mother’s milk) and hence they were shifted to Mysuru Zoo.
Kamala K, Deputy Conservator of Forests, said they had set a trap at the spot but the mother did not turn up. The cubs are healthy, she said.
Ukkalagere leopard elusiveA leopard that claimed the life of a youth on Ukkalagere hillock remains elusive. It was captured in a camera trap on Thursday on the hill shrine, which is a reserved area. Since then, the big cat has not been found. Meanwhile, efforts to catch the leopard are on.
Leopardess trappedA leopardess walked into a trap at Marashettihalli in Mysuru taluk. There were complaints from the public about the movement of leopards in the region. A cage was placed near the village. The leopardess was healthy and was later released in Nagarahole tiger reserve, informed DCF Kamala.
Leopard kills livestock in HunsurA leopard attacked and killed three livestock including two sheep and a calf in Hunsur’s Muththurayana Hosahalli on Saturday. The livestock belonged to one Devaraju, according to sources. Deputy conservator of forest of Hunsur territorial division Seema PS confirmed the news to STOI.
