In UP's Hamirpur, bulldozer gifted to groom by in-laws
Bride’s father said that bulldozer will help his daughter earn money
KANPUR: A marriage solemnised on Friday in Hamirpur district witnessed an unusual gift given to the groom by his in-laws. Groom Yogendra Prajapati alias Yogi of Saunkhar village of the district, was gifted a bulldozer as a wedding gift by the bride’s father.
Bride Neha's father Parshuram Prajapati, a native of Devgaon in Sumerpur area of the district, said that the bulldozer will help his daughter earn money, besides will also help her in-laws boost their income.
“My son-in-law is in the Navy and will always be out, so I thought of gifting him a bulldozer because if I had given him a car, it would have been left parked. At least my daughter and in-laws will continue to be financially secured by the bulldozer,” the bride’s father said.
The video of the wedding where a bulldozer is seen parked in the pandal at a marriage guest house is going viral on Twitter and people are giving their reactions.
The groom’s side, however, said that they never ask for any dowry, but it was the bride father's wish who insisted they accept the ‘unique’ gift.
Parshuram Prajapati said, “My daughter is preparing for the UPSC exam, and in case she fails to get a job, the bulldozer will help her in fulfilling her financial needs as it could be used commercially.”
When the bulldozer was parked by the girls’ side in the ‘pandal’ at the guest house prior to the ‘vidai’ ceremony, guests, besides locals, surrounded it out of curiosity.
The groom, Yogi, said: “As soon as the bulldozer reached my house, people started making calls to me to book it for commercial work. The first booking has been made for a pipeline digging related work.”
