MANGALURU: Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) CEO Sanjeev Kumar Gupta on Friday said that the Fintech Task Force will soon submit a proposal outlining a roadmap to boost the growth of the Fintech industry in Mangaluru, which has been projected as the Fintech hub of the state.
Gupta was interacting with representatives of the media, on the sidelines of Mangaluru Technovanza 2.0, an event organised as part of KDEM’s ‘Beyond Bengaluru’ initiative.
The second edition of Technovanza in Mangaluru emphasised the role of women in the workforce, he said. “The percentage of women in the workforce has shrunk following the outbreak of Covid-19. KDEM is endeavouring to bring more women back to the workforce by fostering a conducive eco-system for start-up units, which will help generate employment, improve access to markets, et al. KDEM is also hosting events such as ‘shark tanks’ and ‘women at work’ in the various regions of the state to help start-ups accelerate their growth,” Gupta added.
Shylaja Rao, general partner of Ventana Ventures, stressed the need to increase the percentage of women across sectors. Karnataka State Handicraft Development Corporation MD Roopa D Moudgil said that the body was equipping women artisans with skills to create new and innovative products.
