Ludhiana: Police have booked a man for allegedly raping a woman in a car. The accused is a garment seller.
The complainant, a garment manufacturer, told the cops that she has known the accused since 2008. The accused used to buy garments from the complainant. She informed that earlier, the accused allegedly had physical relations with her on the pretext of marriage and later refused to marry her, after which she had brought the matter to the notice of court.
She told the police that the case continued for a few months, after which the accused again came in contact with her and started buying garments from her. She added that the accused owed her some money for the goods he had bought from her. When she called him to ask for money, the accused asked her to come to Samrala Chowk. She alleged that the accused made her sit in his car and took her to Samrala on the pretext of giving the money.
She told the police that on their way back from Samrala, the accused forcibly raped her in his car. She claimed that she cried for help and pleaded with him, but he forced himself upon her. She later lodged a complaint with the police which booked the accused into the matter.
