GURUGRAM: Of the 4 lakh beneficiaries who can avail health treatment under Chirayu Haryana scheme, the city has covered only 50% of the target by generating 2,08,282 cards. Now, the authorities have set a deadline to cover the remaining beneficiaries in a week.
The state government on November 21 had extended the Ayushman Bharat benefits to people having an annual income of up to Rs 1.8 lakh. Earlier the cap was at Rs 1.2 lakh annual income. Now, a total of 1.2 crore beneficiaries have been included in the scheme.
Under the scheme, people from the economically weaker section can avail treatment as well as coverage of three days of pre-hospitalisation and 15 days of post-hospitalisation expenses and around 1,500 treatment packages covering surgery, medical and day care treatment, cost of medicines and diagnostics will be covered.
Deputy commissioner Gurugram Nishant Kumar Yadav has ordered MCG and health officials, and the SDM to complete the target within a week. The gram secretary of low performing villages will be called in for an explanation after a week.
“Ayushman camps are being organised at two different places in the district. About 4 lakh eligible beneficiaries have been identified in the district under the Chirayu scheme, out of which cards have been made for 2 lakh beneficiaries so far. The health department officials are being encouraged to complete their part. Mobilisation of the entitled beneficiaries to card generation sites are being done by ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers along with distribution of the Ayushman cards and creating scheme awareness,” said Virender Yadav, the chief medical officer (CMO) of Gurugram.
