Prayagraj: Women’s and men’s teams of North Central Railway (NCR) won silver medals in both the categories by performing excellently in the All India Inter Railway Cross Country Championship held recently at Amarkantak, Chhattisgarh.
North Central Railway teams under the leadership of Athletics Coach. Ragini Gaur and Manager Diwakar Shukla went to Amarkantak to participate in the 53rd All India Railway Cross Country Championship (Women and Men).
Eleven men’s and nine women’s teams of Indian Railways participated in this competition. Chhavi Yadav of North Central Railway won gold medal in 10 kilometer event. Chhavi Yadav, Nandini Gupta, Rishu Singh, Kavita Yadav and Sangini Devi working in Prayagraj division were part of the women’s team.
The men’s team consisted of Bahadur Patel, Virendra Kumar Pal, Raj Kumar Singh, Ajay Veer Singh, Ajit Kumar and Vasudev Nishad.
The teams called on General Manager, North Central Railway Satish Kumar in his office and apprised him about the achievements on Friday. The General Manager inquired about each and every player of the team and congratulated them on their wonderful achievement, informed senior public relation officer, NCR, Amit Malviya who is also the secretary of the North Central Railway Sports Association (NCRSA).
