AHMEDABAD: An officer of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (
AMC) on Thursday discovered human remains from a water treatment plant at Kotarpur waterworks in the Hansol area of the city.
Sardarnagar police sent the severed head and limbs that were found for postmortem examination and began investigation. Inspector P V Gohil of Sardarnagar police confirmed the same.
The AMC released 18 million litres of water from the treatment plant on Thursday after the human remains were found. The eastern areas of the city receive water from this plant. Water in this treatment plant comes in from Narmada canal. According to police sources, the body parts found may have been of a suicide victim.
