…Day 3, Session 2…
Right then, it is India who are in the driver's seat now and the hosts will have to do something special to claw their way up into the game. India will look to post a mammoth total here whilst the Bangladesh bowlers will be looking for some early breakthroughs at the start of the second session. Can they do it? Or will India continue to bat freely? Let's find out. Do join us at 11.40 am IST (6.10 am GMT) for the post-Lunch session.
Bangladesh struggled a lot with the bat as Mushfiqur Rahim was the top scorer with 28. Mehidy Hasan with 25, Litton Das with 24, and debutant opener Zakir Hasan with 20 were the only other batters to score in the '20s. Bangladesh were finally bowled out for 150 and India had the lead of 254 runs. Their bowlers did not find a breakthrough in the 15 overs they bowled and will have to come up with something special now.
Another session that belonged to India and Bangladesh were dismissed for 150 with a trail of 254 runs. India did not enforce a follow-on and came to bat. They will hope to put a big score on the board on day 3 here at Chattogram. A wonderful comeback for Kuldeep Yadav in Test cricket as he put up his highest batting score and the best bowling figures in the innings finishing with his third 5-wicket haul in the format conceding 40 runs in 16 overs with 6 maidens. After coming to bat again, both the openers, KL Rahul and Gill looked comfortable adding 36 runs to their lead and they lead by 290 runs now.
