Nagpur: Wondering where to keep your pet dog while going outstation will soon be a thing of the past as Nagpur Improvement Trust has allowed a centre to keep pet animals.
NIT will only provide the space and a non-government organization will have to develop the centre. This pet centre will be made available to those who want to keep their pets while they are out of station. This was decided in NIT’s board meeting chaired by chairman Manojkumar Suryawanshi on Thursday.
Collector Dr Vipin Itankar, South Nagpur MLA Mohan Mate, trustee Sandeep Itkelwar, joint director urban planning department Supriya Thul were present.
MLA Mate assumed the charge as one of the trustees in the NIT board.
Besides this, many othet important resolutions were also passed in terms of city’s development.
The board has also given its nod to a proposal of constructing a cricket stadium and a cricket academy on Umred Road with the help of a local cricket association.
The move will definitely give exposure to many budding cricketers from South Nagpur.
The board also decided to give its shops situated on Central Bazaar road for 30 years. Currently, occupants of these shops were given temporary licenses. “But now these places will be given on lease for 30 years through auction procedure. Highest bidders will get the shop,” the board meeting decided.
The NIT has also issued show cause notice to M/s Studio One-Khalatkar Construction Consortium, which had printed and distributed invitation cards for Musical Fountain show at Futala lake. The board has taken a serious cognizance of this and warned the firm.
Apart from this, the board meeting also decided to provide space for starting an acupressure college in the city.
