Gurgaon: Two men who committed 16 cases of vehicle theft were arrested from Himgiri Chowk on Thursday, police said. Seven two-wheelers and one master key were recovered from the accused, identified as Sahil and Gaurav alias Golu.
According to the police, 16 FIRs have been registered against the duo, who had been arrested for four cases. Investigation revealed that the accused were drug addicts and would steal vehicles to buy drugs.
On December 13, an FIR was registered against them for stealing a two-wheeler in Sector 37. Following the FIR, a police team was formed to arrest the accused with the help of CCTV footage.
An FIR has been registered at Sector 10 police station under section 379 (whosoever commits theft of a vehicle either from an open or closed arena, is said to commit the offence of vehicle lifting) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
