TIRUPUR: Special secretary to the rural development and panchayat raj department M Karunakaran, who is also monitoring officer for Tirupur, on Thursday instructed the district officials to expedite the ongoing developmental works. He chaired a meeting with the officials of all departments at the Tirupur collectorate on the day and reviewed the progress of works that were undertaken by them. He instructed the officials to complete the work within the stipulated time.
District collector S Vineeth, sub-collector Srutanjay Narayanan, project director of district rural development agency A Lakshmanan and other officials attended the meeting.
Earlier in the day, Karunakaran distributed loans to the tune of 3 crore to 73 beneficiaries for their education and business needs with the help of the district's lead bank.
According to an official source, the district monitoring officer inspected work on the anganwadi at Sathya Nagar, panchayat union primary school, weekly market and drinking water supply work at Ganapathy Nagar that were being implemented in Padiyur panchayat under the 15th financial commission.
