SMC staffer hangs to death at home

Surat: A 40-year-old beldar (office boy) of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) was found dead at his home in Piplod area on Thursday. Deceased was posted in SMC’s Lok Seva Kendra.
Deceased Vishal Luhar used a dupatta to hang himself after he suffered from ear problems and had also undergone a surgery recently. However, the problems persisted and Luhar became upset. Luhar was found dead in his room when family members went to check on him after he failed to respond to their calls on Thursday morning.
The police sent the body for post mortem and preliminary findings revealed that Luhar died of hanging. The police, however, did not find a suicide note. The family members told the police that deceased was upset over his illness. TNN
