Man arrested for stealing Rs 5 lakh from employer's showroom in Mumbai
Samta Nagar police have arrested a 28-year-old man from Alibaug for stealing Rs 5 lakh cash from his employer's store. The police said accused Ramlal Sen, had switched off his phone to avoid the police from tracking his whereabouts.
MUMBAI: Samta Nagar police have arrested a 28-year-old man from Alibaug for stealing Rs 5 lakh cash from his employer's store. The police said accused Ramlal Sen, had switched off his phone to avoid the police from tracking his whereabouts.
Sen's employer Umed Rajput, had approached the police with a complaint last month. He told the police that Sen had taken Rs 5 lakh cash from the office drawer between 6 pm on November 16 and 8.30 am on November 17. He had disappeared and switched off his phone.
Samta Nagar police registered an FIR for theft, and started looking for Sen who hails from Rajasthan. The investigators learnt that Sen had changed his number and cellphone, and was hiding somewhere in Maharashtra.
Through technical analysis, they found out his new number and his whereabouts. He was nabbed from Alibaug. The cops recovered 46 brand new cellphones worth Rs 1.33 lakh, and cellphone related accessories worth Rs 20,000, apart from Rs 2.75 lakh cash from him. "We are investigating the case from all angles. Relevant sections if the IPC have been slapped on the accused," said an officer.
