₹10.20cr property of Vijay Mishra’s son to be attached
Varanasi: Bhadohi police on Wednesday started the process to attach the property of jailed mafia don and former MLA Vijay Mishra’s son Vishnu Mishra in Riva of Madhya Pradesh following the issuance of an order by the district magistrate Bhadohi Gaurang Rathi under Gangster Act.
Cost of the identified property purchased by Mishra in the name of his son, who is also in jail, with illegally earned money has been estimated as Rs 10.20 crore. SP Bhadohi Anil Kumar said that under the ongoing against the economic empire of mafia and gangsters, a property purchased by Vijay Mishra in name of his son and active gang member Vishnu Mishra, with illegally earned money had come to light in Hanumana area of Riva district in MP. With the progress in investigation, police found that 8.30 acre land in Riva had been purchased by Mishras and its current market value has been estimated as Rs 10.20 crore, he added.
After collecting all the details the police had sent its report to DM Bhadohi, he said adding that on the investigation report of police the DM Bhadohi issued an order to attach this property in Riva under Gangster Act.
Earlier, Vishnu was arrested by STF from Pune in July and was brought to Bhadohi. Having eight cases of property grabbing, threatening and gang rape lodged against him, he kept dodging police for almost two years. Following his arrest, the STF personnel had recovered AK-47 rifle, .9mm pistol, several magazines and over 375 live cartridges from a petrol pump in Gopiganj area of Bhadohi district on the basis of clues given by Vishnu in August.
The Wednesday order of DM Bhadohi is the third major blow for Vijay Mishra gang in a forthnight. On December 1, DM Bhadohi had ordered to attach a villa of Rs 11.55 crore in the name of Vijay Mishra’s daughter-in-law Rupa Mishra in Sushant Golf City of Lucknow. On December 12 another order to attach a three-storied building in the name of his nephew Manish Mishra of Rs 8.30 crores in Prayagraj district was issued.
