GURUGRAM: The body of a woman, partly decomposed and mangled by strays, was found stuffed inside a black bag in a field next to the Delhi-Jaipur highway in Rewari on Tuesday.
A farmer spotted the bag lying along the service lanes of the highway late on Tuesday night and informed the police.
Cops said the body appeared to be around a week old and "partially destroyed by stray dogs". A probe has begun to identify her.
In fact, it was one of his workers who had alerted the farmer about a stench emanating from the field. The farmer soon arrived at the spot and found the body in the bag.
"It's hard to say anything right now as the body was decomposed. Initially, it appeared that the body was chopped but later, doctors told us that the body was mangled by street dogs. A police team has been formed to investigate the matter," said Manoj Kumar, the station house officer of Kasola police station.
Cops said that they had alerted the control room and "are also looking into the missing complaints from the adjoining districts to identify the woman".
An FIR has been registered against unknown persons at the Kasola police station under sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), an officer said.
On October 18, a woman's body was found in a suitcase near the IFFCO Chowk area. Later, it came to the fore that the woman's husband had killed her in a fit of rage.
He allegedly removed a tattoo from her arm by slicing the skin off with a knife and stripped her so that she couldn't be identified. Then, he bundled her in the suitcase by twisting her limbs and neck and dumped the same near the busy junction on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway.
