Jaipur: In yet another incident of official laxity and lack of security arrangements, six inmates escaped from the government-run observation home after breaking through the wall of the home on Monday late evening.
SHO (transport) Abdul Wahid said that four suspects fled through the wall while two others managed to escape after giving security guards a slip.
According to Transport Nagar police station, the incident took place on Monday evening when some inmates as part of a planned conspiracy broke a part of the crumbling wall and fled.
The latest incident has once again brought to the fore poor security arrangements at these facilities. The police officials rued the fact that the security system inside the observation home remains deplorable despite multiple incidents of inmates fleeing easily.
The observation home also remains in the news for all the wrong reasons. Just last month, the police arrested five accused for allegedly sodomising and beating two inmates inside the juvenile observation home. Police said two inmates, aged 18 and 23, had filed an FIR last week that five inmates were allegedly harassing them. The two also alleged that the accused had been sodomising them.
