Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:45AM

MOIL(up 2.74%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.96%), 20 Microns(up 0.67%), KIOCL(up 0.58%), Dvpt Corporation(up 0.55%), NMDC Ltd(up 0.16%) and Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 0.11%) were among the top gainers.

Pokarna(down 1.51%), Aro Granite Industries(down 0.99%), Lexus Granito(down 0.88%), Coal India(down 0.84%) and Ashapura Minechem(down 0.06%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 78.5 points down at 18581.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 277.48 points at 62400.43 at around 10:45AM.

SBI Life(up 1.41%), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.89%), Tata Motors(up 0.83%), NTPC(up 0.73%), Britannia Industries(up 0.64%), Bajaj Finance(up 0.52%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.43%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.41%), Larsen & Toubro(up 0.32%) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 0.29%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tech Mahindra(down 1.84%), Infosys(down 1.78%), JSW Steel(down 1.25%), HCL Technologies(down 1.24%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.13%), Tata Consultancy(down 1.09%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.05%), Titan Company Ltd(down 0.98%), Eicher Motors(down 0.91%) and Grasim Industries(down 0.9%) were trading in the red.
