Gurgaon: Residents of New Town Heights in Sector 91 have approached the department of town and country planning (DTCP) demanding structural and forensic audits of the project.
In a letter to DTCP director general TL Satyaprakash, deputy commissioner Nishant Yadav and district town planner Amit Madholia, residents have alleged that poor design and construction flaws pose a safety risk to 600 families living in the society. They also demanded that the developer be directed to fulfil the completion certificate conditions. Satyaprakash received the letter on Tuesday.
“Due to poor construction, seepage, cracks and falling of plaster is quite common across all towers. The condition of lifts is also bad,” the letter reads.
Residents have demanded a structural audit from a competent authority like IIT-Roorkee or Delhi, testing of construction materials and a forensic financial audit of the society’s funds.
“We are paying hefty maintenance charges every month but aren’t getting adequate facilities. We have demanded a financial audit of the books for transparency,” said PK Kaul, a resident of Tower D of the society.
When contacted, a spokesperson of the developer said their teams are constantly in touch and working with the RWA and residents. “The RWA and residents are well aware of any/all progress of work,” he said.
