MUMBAI: On the day when Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and his Karnataka counterpart Basavaraj Bommai met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray said just like some of Maharashtra’s bigticket projects were taken to Gujarat ahead of the assembly elections there, now some of the districts may be shifted to Karnataka, where polls are scheduled next year.
“ The aggressiveness seen from the Karnataka CM may be for the [Karnataka] elections. Like some of our projects were taken to Gujarat for the elections there, similary some of our districts may be shifted for Karnataka elections. The sad thing is that every time Maharashtra suffers; no one feels bad,” Thackeray said on Wednesday.
Two weeks ago, the border dispute took a violent turn as stones were pelted on Maharashtra state transport vehicles in the border areas of Karnataka.
