AGRA: In a tragic incident, a class II student of a primary school in village Kishanpur under Shikohabad police station in
Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad district died following a scuffle with fellow students, police said.
On Monday, a fight broke out between the seven-year-old student, identified as Shivam alias Som, and some other students who jumped on his chest, said police sources. Shivam returned home but his health condition deteriorated and was rushed to a nearby government hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, the sources said.
The child's parents have alleged negligence on part of the teachers and have filed a police complaint. Birender Singh, the father of the victim, told TOI, "I was told by some of the students that three of my son's fellow students got into a scuffle with him. When my son came home on Monday, he was writhing in pain. We immediately rushed him to a government hospital where he died during treatment on Tuesday."
Refuting allegation, the victim's class teacher Manju Devi (38) said, "No such incident took place inside the school premises. They could have fought outside the school." Shikohabad police station SHO Harvindra Mishra, said, "Based on a complaint filed by the victim's family, a probe has been launched. Will take action after the post-mortem report, The school administration is also being questioned."
