German automobile manufacturer BMW's social media accounts are the latest to be hacked, following South Korean manufacturer Kia's similar problems earlier this week.

BMW's Twitter and Instagram accounts posted memes on December 13, raising suspicions that the Bavarian manufacturer’s accounts were being meddled with.

Posts on the handles said “I am taking over now." The company’s Twitter handle was also changed to ‘DEE’.

Kia India's media handles were also hacked earlier this week, with the manufacturer recovering their accounts on Wednesday. The social media account of the automaker was hacked on Tuesday by some unknown cyber attackers where the perpetrators also posted inappropriate content.
