34-yr-old man kills wife over illicit relationship, arrested

Jaipur: A 34-year-old man allegedly first shot at his wife and then stabbed her to death at his village in Nagla Medsingh under Bayana police station area of Bharatpur on Sunday evening. On Monday, the man was arrested on charges of murder.
According to police, the incident took place at 9pm when the woman identified as Babli was having dinner. “Suddenly the accused opened fire and stabbed the woman indiscriminately before fleeing the spot. However, people living in the neighbourhood after hearing screams came to their house and intimated us. The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to injuries. Whether she was shot or not is yet to be ascertained,” said an officer of Bayana police station.
The accused identified as Ram Kishor was arrested on Monday morning. “It was found that the deceased woman had an affair with a youth living in the same village where she lived. She had even eloped with him. Police had found and brought her back from Nagaur. The accused in the interrogation said he was upset with the behaviour of his wife ,” the officer added.
Police said when the woman was having her dinner, Ram Kishor asked her to stay away from the youth, which triggered a verbal spat between them. “It appears that the accused killed her in a fit of rage. We have also recovered a blood stained knife. However, we are yet to collect the evidence to establish the woman was also shot,” the officer said.
