Jaipur: The Jaipur police registered an FIR at Bhankrota police station over the suspicious death of court employee Subhash Mehra on November 10 at the residence of judicial officer Krishna Swaroop Chalana.
Police registered FIR under various sections of the IPC including murder, conspiracy, illegal confinement, and various sections of the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act, 1989.
The employees’ association said it will take a decision on their strike at a meeting on Tuesday after talks with the Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court.
State president of the association Surendra Narayan Joshi said FIR has been registered after a delay of 28 days and is most regrettable. He said a delay in such suspected cases like murder could result in destruction of evidence.
Joshi said the local police have already concluded that it is a case of suicide allegedly under the influence of a person like a judicial officer who is the accused. He said therefore a CBI probe is called for in this case. He also demanded that departmental action should also be taken against the officer.
The employees’ association has been on strike since November 18, seeking a CBI probe, Rs 50 lakh compensation, and a job for a member of the deceased’s family among others.
