HYDERABAD: Income tax officials on Monday conducted searches on the premises of Mythri Movie Makers (MMM), a leading film production house.
MMM made the blockbuster 'Pushpa: The Rise' and several other films in Telugu and other languages.
The searches were conducted at 15 places, including at the houses of producers Yelamanchili Ravishankar and Naveen Yerneni and top executives of the production company.
The taxmen reportedly checked the records of MMM to ascertain if it paid tax on its income and also looked into alleged tax evasion.
The searches were carried out on the day the production house began shooting for 'Pushpa: The Rule', a sequel to the hit film.
The Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa was the top-grossing Indian film in 2021-22 with a collection of over Rs 375 crore at the box office.
