22 committees formed for Congress yatra in Alwar district
Jaipur: Rajasthan Congress has constituted 22 committees to oversee preparations for the Bharat Jodo Yatra and farewell ceremony in Alwar district.
Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) chairman Dharmendra Rathore, one of the three Rajasthan Congress leaders who was earlier sent a notice for ‘indiscipline’ by the party leadership, has also been included in ‘Adhar and Satkar’ committee. The committee comprises total of 26 members with senior leader Bhanwar Jitendra Singh at the top.
An office bearer said, “In Rajasthan, the yatra is scheduled to cover 521km. It already crossed Jhalawar, Kota and Bundi before entering Sawai Madhopur district on Monday. It will march for 18 days before entering Haryana on December 21. Committees have been constituted to take the stock of the preparations in Alwar.”
Considered close to chief minister Ashok Gehlot, Rathore was served the notice by the AICC for being involved in a parallel meeting held by CM loyalists.
Earlier, ahead of ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, Congress general secretary Ajay Maken had resigned as in-charge of state affairs as he was piqued over the party inaction against three Rajasthan leaders - two ministers Shanti Dhariwal, Mahesh Joshi; and RTDC chairman Dharmendra Rathore - who were served notices for ‘grave indiscipline’ by the party for holding a meeting parallel to the CLP.
