Empty wagon derails near Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, traffic normalized within two hours
Due to the derailment, the down line (Delhi to Howrah) was disrupted for around two hours.
PRAYAGRAJ: Two wheels of an empty wagon derailed between Bharwari and Bidhanpur stations of Prayagraj division of the North Central Railway (NCR) on Tuesday evening.
Due to the derailment, the down line (Delhi to Howrah) was disrupted for around two hours.
According to Public Relation Officer (PRO) of Prayagraj division, Amit Singh, “The derailment occurred at around 4:00pm when two wheels of an empty wagon derailed between Bidhanpur and Bharwari station. After getting the information, the control shifted the major trains to the up line (Howrah to Delhi). The technical team re-railed the derailed wheels at 5:45 pm.
According to Singh, four trains were delayed for about an hour including Kalka mail, Mahananda express, Jammu Tawi-Tatanagar Muri express and Anand Vihar-Jogbani Seemanchal express. Traffic has been fully restored on the down line as well, said the PRO.
