Seeing rival camps’ preparations,BJP seeks 5 names from each ward

Prayagraj: The district Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is adopting social engineering formula (samajik samikaran formula) based on caste count,winnability and loyalty among other factors for ticket distribution ahead of the fast-approaching urban civic body polls to ensure its triumph in all 100wards of the city. BJP is also keeping an eye on the aspirants of rival camp i.e. Congress, Samajwadi Party, BahujanSamaj Party and Aam Admi Party (AAP) and aspirants strength and weakness to access about the ground report in each and every ward. BJP after seeing status of aspirants applying from rival camps, have now sought at last five names from each and every ward from the district party leadership and names two of aspirants would be forwarded to Kashi prantleadership for final selection of candidates of corporators.
Party’sspokesman Rajesh Kesarwani admitted to TOI, “The party would now sought five names of aspirants seeking party ticket to contest for the post of corporator from each and every ward and names of two of them would be sent to Kashi prant leadership for the final selection of candidates. The district party leadership will scrutinize the names of candidates before sending two names of Kashi prant leadership”.of rival camps from all 100wards and the names of would sent to kashi prant after accessing the groundreports.
He also claimed party leadership is studying all strength and weak points of each and every ward and accessing about the suitable and winnable candidates. Moreover, BJP leadership has said that the selection of two names would surely be based on on samajik samikaran formula and for that, a secret survey is being conducted in all 100 wards. Leaders, however, claimed the winnability of candidate as well as loyalty would also be considered before allotting tickets.
The names of candidate for mayoral post would be announced by state party leadership. After the reservation criteria of mayoral and corporator posts was announced by the urban development department, the district BJP leadership is busy in shaping its poll arena and appointed panna, gali and mohallah pramukh to connect with voters.
A district core committee meeting of members is likely to be held shortly. Meanwhile, the Mahanagar party leadership, in a bid to strengthen its voter base, has made ita point that only those leaders should be given tickets who have worked for the party and people.
More importantly, the BJP leadership is also looking into the aspect of dissident candidates (once denied ticket and then contesting polls as independents) with the apprehension their candidature could dent the party’s prospects in urban civic polls. The party has assured its workers and members that ticket distribution work would be made on the basis of ground work and support base and also warned that those opposing the party’s candidate would be expelled.
