Andheri man arrested for stalking web series actor

MUMBAI: A 35-year-old man was arrested by D N Nagar police on Sunday for sexually harassing a model and stalking her. A holiday court released him on bail the same day. The 26-year-old model has acted in Bengali and Hindi web series.
In April 2022, she started an account on a live-streaming app, Mika chat. She would live-stream from her account and had several followers. When a follower started to send obscene chats in July, she blocked him. "He went on to Instagram and found her account. He started to post obscene messages there too and she blocked him on Instagram," said an officer.
The accused then posted a voice message on Twitter and tagged her husband. Besides, he created a fake account on Instagram with her photos and her name, sending out friend requests to her contacts.
The model said he found her phone numbers and started to call and text her to harass her. He found out her address and began stalking her too. She lodged a complaint with D N Nagar police and an FIR was lodged under provisions of IPC and Information Technology Act.
Police tracked down M Shaikh and took the Andheri resident into custody. He told police this was the first time that he was arrested.
