Minor girl, lover found hanging in Auraiya village

Kanpur: Bodies of a minor girl and her alleged lover were found hanging in a room close to a water-pump house in Murcha village under the limits of Bidhuna Kotwali police station in Auraiya district on Sunday.
Police have recovered a suicide note from the tube-well room wherein the deceased, prior to resorting to take the extreme step, requested their family members not to separate them even after their death, and take them together wherever they go. They also stated that their souls will rest to peace only when their last rites are performed together.
They added in the suicide note that they are taking this extreme step on their own and no one should be held responsible for their extreme step.
According to the police, the love affair between Shivam Kumar (22), a polytechnic student and a native of Murcha village, and his 17-year-old neighbour, was going on and their families came to know about it recently. Later, the family members of both opposed their relationship and tried a lot to convince them, but they did not agree. The two were quite upset due to opposition by their families.
On Saturday at around 8 pm, both of them left the house without informing anyone. They went to the room near the pump house, where they committed suicide by hanging themselves. After they went missing for a long time, their family members launched a search to trace them, but in vain. On Sunday morning, after finding the tube-well room locked from inside, their family members got suspicious and informed the police.
A police team led by senior police officials reached the spot, and in the presence of the villagers, the door of the tube-well room was broken. On entering inside, the bodies of two were found hanging. The police brought the bodies down and sent them for post-mortem examination. Circle Officer Bidhuna MP Singh said the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and the action will be taken according to its findings.
"We have recovered a suicide note from the spot in which both of them pleaded not to separate them from each other even after their death and their souls will only get peace when both are cremated together," the CO further said.
