Four children are reportedly in critical condition after sliding through ice on a pond on Sunday in Solihull, England.

Four children that fell in a pond in Solihull after sliding through the snow, have been retrieved. They remain in critical condition, according to emergency officials. The children, who are believed to be in primary school were allegedly playing on the frozen surface when it cracked.

Emergency service rushed to the scene in Babbs Mill Park in Kingshurst, Solihull on Sunday morning when police officers and onlookers were already in the icy water trying to save them.

Cameron McVittie, a tactical commander with West Midlands Ambulance told UK media “On being rescued, the four children were taken under blue lights to hospital with an advanced care team.”Two were taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital and two to Heartlands in Birmingham. All four children were in critical condition on arrival.”

Northeast Scotland might experience overnight lows of minus 15 degrees Celcius, which would be the country's coldest temperature since February of last year.
