VARANASI: Kashi, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister
Narendra Modi, will hold a meeting of G-20 in coming days, said external affairs minister S Jaishankar on Saturday.
In a historic moment, India had recently assumed the G20 Presidency from Indonesia.
Jaishankar, who arrived here on a two-day visit on Saturday, said the programmes regarding G-20 will be held across 55 cities. “Obviously, an event is also proposed in Kashi, and we are wishing that there should be a programme of the Development Minister here,” he said. During his stay, he will review and take stock of the preparations for the proposed G-20 meet.
Jaishankar also visited the exhibition of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting at Kashi Tamil Sangamam in Banaras Hindu University. He saw the photos of S Bharathi, C Rajagopalachari, Mahatma Gandhi, Dheeran Chinnamalai in the exhibition. He also visited all 75 stalls at the Amphitheatre ground of BHU and inaugurated the basketball match of women’s teams of Uttar Pradesh and
Tamil Nadu.
