Brahmaputra River erodes schools in Assam, students studying in makeshift classrooms

Brahmputra River erosion has badly hit Morigaon district in Assam and has left many villagers homeless. Over the past three months, houses, school building and temples have been swept away. Temporary arrangements have been made for the students to continue their classes. According to government data, the state has so far lost about 4.27 lakh hectares of land due to soil erosion.
