Deputy commissioner of police (North) Sagar Singh Kalsi said the 24-year-old complainant told cops that someone had posted her phone number in a WhatsApp group and since then, she had been receiving obscene videos, photos, and messages from different unknown numbers. A case was registered in this regard.

A team under SHO (cyber) Pawan Tomar was constituted and during investigation, it found that the mobile number belonged to one Najim Ali of Hapur," police said.
Ali informed the police that his elder brother, Khan, a tailor at a Noida-based company, was using his SIM card. The team conducted a raid and nabbed him at a park in Noida. The mobile phone used in the offence was recovered.
Police said Khan and the victim live in the same locality and he somehow managed to get her phone number. "He made several phone calls to her and attempted to strike
up a conversation, but the woman showed disinterest and complained about him to her husband, who called the accused and a heated conversation took place," the officer said.
