JAIPUR: Just a week after Raju Theth, a slain gangster of Shekhawati region was gunned down by five armed assailants in Sikar, three masked assailants on a bike opened indiscriminate fire at a businessman’s shop at Hanumangarh on Saturday morning with pistols.
Soon after the firing, one Hritik Boxer who claimed to be from Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed the responsibility of the firing and asked for a ransom of Rs 2 crore from the businessman. Police so far have detained one of the assailants and have identified two others and have also seized the bike used in the firing.
The video of the incident came to the fore in which two masked men are seen firing and the third person started the bike and was standing while they were firing.
The responsibility of this incident has been taken by Hrithik Boxer of Lawrence gang.
Ajay Singh, Superintendent of police, Hanumangarh, divulging the details of the incident, said, “The incident took place around 8.55 am in Hanumangarh's paddy market when three masked assailants on a bike without number fired at the shop of businessman identified as Indra Hisaria. As soon as the cleaner opened the shop, the miscreants fired 6 rounds. With the firing the glasses of the shop were broken.”
Singh added that no casualty was reported in the incident and the firing was done to intimidate the businessman.
“It appears that firing was done to intimidate the businessman as it was done from a long distance from the shop. We have detained one of the assailants and have identified two others. The bike used in the firing was also seized,” Singh added.
Last year, a ransom of Rs 2 crore was demanded in the name of Lawrence gang by threatening to kill businessman Indra Hisaria on the phone of his accountant.
In this regard, on January 26, 2021, a case was registered against the unknown at the Junction police station. “In that case we had arrested eight persons on February 2 including the shooter from Maharashtra, the leader of the gang who made the ransom threats,” said a senior officer.
After the firing a voice message asking for extortion money of Rs 2 crore was again sent to the businessman.
