Assam police arrest drug trafficker from Mizoram along Indo-Myanmar border

A drug trafficker was arrested by Karimganj district police in Assam from Mizoram along the Indo-Myanmar border on December 09. The trafficker has been identified as Lalpiang Naurah. He was brought to Karimganj police station on December 10. Karimganj district’s DSP Gitartha Dev Sarma said, “Police arrested a kingpin of illegal drug trade along the Indo-Myanmar border in connection with a seizure of nine kilograms of heroin. The accused was Myanmar national and got Indian citizenship in 2010. We are investigating the matter.”
