Boys basketball roundup: Armada remains unbeaten; Almont escapes at home

Here are some notable results from Friday's boys basketball games in the Blue Water Area.

Almont 58, Dryden 55

A game-high 28 points from Clay Roszczewski helped the Raiders earn their first win of the season. Sully Szlaga added nine points and Cam Bourdeau totaled seven for Almont (1-1). Manny Goldstein finished with a team-high eight assists.

The Raiders will hit the road for the first time this year when they visit Ortonville Brandon at 7 p.m. on Monday.

Armada 74, St. Clair Shores Lake Shore 54

Four players finished in double figures for the Tigers, who improved to 2-0. Camden Khon and Andrew Sniesak each had 18 points for Armada. Justin Schapman scored 14 points and Preston Hill followed with 11.

The Tigers will host Peck at 7 p.m. on Monday.

Imlay City 74, Deckerville 37

Beau Hund led all scorers with 17 points as the Spartans improved to 1-1. Caleb Debaeke followed with 15 points while Tyler Pries had 12. Ten different Imlay City players made it into the scorebook.

With the victory, the Spartans advanced to the next round of the Harry Moore Classic at Capac High School. They'll meet Sandusky at 8 p.m. on Saturday.

Port Huron 49, Anchor Bay 44

The Big Reds bounced back two days after dropping their opener. Deonte Foy dropped in a team-high 16 points for Port Huron, which improved to 1-1. Conner Rosenau contributed 10 points and five rebounds.

Up next for the Big Reds is a road game against crosstown rival Port Huron Northern, at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Richmond 62, Macomb Lutheran North 45 (Thursday)

The Blue Devils opened the season with a bang. And it was Karl Stevens who led the way. He finished with 19 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and four steals for Richmond (1-0).

D'Quan Haskins chipped in nine points and six assists while Marcus Thompson had nine points and four assists. Trey Graham added seven points, three rebounds and three steals.

Up next for the Blue Devils is a matchup against Cardinal Mooney at 3 p.m. on Saturday. That game will be played at Macomb L'Anse Creuse North.
