HYDERABAD: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) plans to come up with specific policies in sectors where Telangana excelled in the past eight years to make it appealing in other states. CM K Chandrasekhar Rao wants to announce the sector-wise policies of BRS in a meeting in the national capital soon.
Top on the list is agriculture, irrigation, drinking water, energy, environmental issues including greenery and women's empowerment as party believes that if these issues are addressed then it would get support even in states where there is no presence of Telugus.

KCR has engaged various groups of people, including professors, agricultural experts, economists, former IAS and IPS officers and even former judges of Supreme Court and High Court to formulate the policies.
Data on various sectors from the country in comparison with other countries such as the US, the UK, China etc., and statewise reports have also been collected. Sources said draft policies on agriculture, irrigation and power sector have been prepared and finishing touches are being given.
During the meeting on Friday, KCR said if BRS comes into power it would provide 24x7 electricity to remote villages and tribal hamlets as well as extend Dalit Bandhu scheme to 25 lakh families in a year. He also spoke on implementation of Rythu Bandhu scheme.
"Telangana has been implementing many unique welfare schemes and people of some states, especially bordering villages of Karnataka and Maharashtra, are also demanding Rythu Bandhu and Dalit Bandhu. The Centre has copied Rythu Bandhu and Mission Bhagiratha and given it different names. Even MPs from other states enquire about Telangana's schemes," BRS MP Nama Nageswara Rao said.
KCR has been repeatedly saying that there was no dearth of water resources in the country and the Centre can provide 40,000 tmcft of water to all states for irrigation/drinking and also four lakh MW of power apart from generating solar power. Earlier, farmers from UP, Punjab and Haryana, who visited the state, had also praised Telangana schemes.
"The farmers unions from these states praised the concern KCR has for the farming community and his schemes such as Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima," Telangana Rythu Bandhu Samithi president Palla Rajeshwar Reddy said.
