Prabhatsinh blames EVMs, irregularities for his loss
Vadodara: Former Kalol MLA and former minister Prabhatsinh Chauhan who had quit the BJP to contest polls from Congress blamed irregularities in elections and EVMs for his loss. Interestingly, he even said he used to win in a similar way earlier.
Chauhan who was contesting against BJP’s Fatesinh Chauhan on the Kalol seat took a drubbing by a lead of 1,15,679 votes in the results declared on Friday. Speaking to the media, Chauhan said that he was surprised that he did not get a led in any of the booths. He claimed that bogus voting was done and money was distributed during the polls.
When asked by a media person if he believed there was something wrong in the EVMs, Chauhan said that he believed so because he could not get a lead in any booths. In a counter question, when he was asked if he too won in a similar way, Chauhan replied in the affirmative. “Yes, that time was there,” he said.
Considered a heavyweight, Chauhan had polled 26,007 votes in the results declared on Thursday. Against this, Fatesinh got 1,41,686 votes.
